Research Interest

During my PhD, I aim to investigate how the respiratory and cardiovascular systems adapt to changes in air composition. This interest comes from my passion with two very different, yet surprisingly related, settings. One is high altitude, where reduced atmospheric pressure limits oxygen availability and challenges the body’s ability to maintain optimal oxygen delivery. The other is the clinical environment, especially the intensive care unit (ICU), where disease and intubation can disrupt normal physiology in a similar way.
