Description
The student will join an ongoing project related to the effect of footwear familiarisation and wear on running economy and perceptual variables. The student will be responsible for leading the study in the final round of testing. Tasks include:
- Familiarisation with the functioning and independent, correct application of the measuring devices used in the study (including ergospirometry) and measuring methods / tests
- Collaboration in data evaluation and literature research
- Collaboration in the administrative organization of the tests
- Collaboration in writing up the final results for publication
- If required: collaboration in other research projects at the Exercise Physiology Lab
Candidates should i) have completed their BSc degree in Health Sciences and Technology, ii) show high interest in sports/exercise, and iii) have a quick grasp of the subject, iv) be very motivated and eager to learn, and v) have German as a native language as well as good oral English skills.
Goal
The student will lead the second half of a research project on how the midsole hardness of running shoes affects the perception of comfort and energy expenditure in well-trained individuals throughout the wear cycle of a shoe.
