Varian Recognition Award 2021

Congratulations to Frank Emert and his collaborators of the Exercise Physiology Lab (ETH) and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI)

Congratulations to Frank Emert and his collaborators of the Exercise Physiology Lab (ETH) and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) for receiving the Varian Recognition Award 2021 of the Swiss Society of Radiation Biology and Medical Physics (SSRMP) for the work "Enhanded-Deep-Inspiration-Breath-Hold superior to High-Frequency-Percussive-Ventilation for respiratory motion mitigation: a physiology-driven, MRI-guided assessment towards oprimized lung cancer treatment with proton therapy".

This award aims to express the appreciation of a thoroughly performed work by which an important topic in radiation therapy is covered and which is the basis for future studies. With this awards, the prize committee recognizes the relevance of this work in the field of radiation therapy and especially for this comprehensive investigation regarding respiratory mitigation strategies in proton therapy of lung tumors.
